Kim V. Heyman

JD, LLM, AEP®

Director

Kim is a Director in Pathstone’s Philadelphia metro area office and a member of Pathstone’s Wealth Planning Group. She is a strategic and passionate advisor with almost three decades of experience, most of which she has spent advising ultra high net worth individuals, families, and family offices. Kim provides clients with holistic wealth, philanthropic, business succession, and tax advice. She guides clients through all aspects of planning, including reviewing what they have in place already, formulating legacy goals, anticipating future issues, and providing strategies to promote family harmony and well-being.

Before moving to provide more holistic legacy and wealth planning advice in June 2020, Kim was a partner in Gadsden Schneider & Woodward LLP, a boutique trust and estate law firm in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Kim started her legal career focusing on tax law at Dewey Ballantine LLP and then on exempt organizations law at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP, both large New York City law firms at that time. She then went into the non-profit sector before specializing in representing individuals in estate and legacy planning and trust and estate administration.

Kim received her J.D., cum laude, and her LL.M. in Taxation, both from New York University School of Law, and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. She also has received the designation of Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®).

Kim sits on the board of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council and she serves as Co-Chair of the Emotional and Psychological Issues in Estate Planning Committee of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association. Kim also serves on her local election board. Kim has authored articles and spoken locally and nationally on various estate planning, charitable planning, and trust and estate administration topics.

Kim lives in the western suburbs of Philadelphia with her husband and daughter (along with their two dogs and cat). She enjoys spending time with her family, being involved in the community, playing tennis, skiing, and traveling.
