Lisandra is the firm’s General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chairman of the Risk Committee. She is responsible for ensuring proactive policies and procedures are designed to comply with the laws and regulations applicable to registered investment advisers. She further advises the firm on matters covering areas such as securities laws, employment matters, privacy laws, contract negotiations, and mergers and acquisitions. She co-leads the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, which she helped launch just a few months after her arrival at the firm.
Lisandra joined Pathstone in 2020 after leaving LPL Financial, where she was Vice President and Assistant General Counsel focusing on compliance with the Investment Advisers Act, regulatory inquiries, and enforcement actions, as well as compliance with various US and international finance and privacy laws. Prior to this, Lisandra was Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at JP Morgan Chase in New York City, where she served the Consumer Banking Division. Early in her career, Lisandra worked at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft where she represented insurers in mortgage-backed securities litigation. During her law school tenure, Lisandra clerked at the United States Department of Justice in their Transnational Crimes Division and for the Deputy Chief Administrative Law Judge at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Lisandra has given lectures at Yale Law School regarding the challenges that financial institutions face within the ever-evolving political, regulatory, and legal landscape. She also participated in the JPMorgan Honors Mentor program aiding young law students in determining the best paths for their evolving legal careers. She currently serves as counsel to pro bono organizations looking to aid underserved Boston communities and is a volunteer for Villanova University’s CASA program aiding young first-generation college graduates in determining their future career paths. She also currently sits on the Board of Willow Street Trust Company, based in Jackson, Wyoming.
Lisandra is bi-lingual in English and a native Spanish speaker. She received a BS degree from Villanova University in 2002, a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2005, and is currently pursuing her MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is also barred in Massachusetts, New York, Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland.
Lisandra lives in Brookline, Massachusetts, with her husband and young twins. During her free time, she enjoys being with her family and traveling to exotic, new countries. She has traveled to six out of the seven world continents, with the hopes of visiting all seven one day.
